Mother Tongue Project Partnerships

Capital High School & Santa Fe Public Schools Teen Parent Center

The Mother Tongue Project is grateful for our foundational partnership with Santa Fe Public Schools (SFPS), Capital High School, and the SFPS Teen Parent Center.

We feel proud to be included in Capital High School's commitment to high-quality, innovative programming for the diverse needs of its students. We work with CHS's administration, English department, and library to offer the Mother Tongue Class to CHS teen parents, create space for the developing Mother Tongue Library, and support Mother Tongue Mentors relationships.

The Santa Fe Public Schools (SFPS) Teen Parent Center provides critical support for Mother Tongue students. Young parents enrolled in SFPS schools rely on the Teen Parent Center to help them meet their academic requirements, graduate from high school, guide their entry to higher education, access prenatal care, learn healthy parenting and relationship skills, acquire early childhood-development information, and assist in future pregnancy prevention.

New Mexico GRADS

New Mexico GRADS is an important partner in the intersection of academic engagement and parenting support services. The GRADS curriculum forms the basis for all SFPS parenting classes and covers a range of core competencies that support students' informed parenting practices, timely high-school graduation, and ability to transition smoothly to post-secondary academic and/or work responsibilities. GRADS's openness to the Mother Tongue Project helps us work productively together and maximize the opportunities for CHS's pregnant and parenting students.
